The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced an unforseen ordinary congress scheduled for August 2nd, 2025, in Lungi, a month coinciding with the time of its Elective Congress as stipulated by its Electoral body.
In its Wednesday release, FA’s Acting Secretary General Mohamed Benson Bawoh said the congress is said to be a pivotal process in the football calendar which will create an avenue for members to review progress, and discuss key materials hindering the progress of the game.
He added that the congress will pave the way for the next leadership to be elected in the upcoming congress.
Submission of proposal is opened in line with Article 26 par. 3.
Football pundits have begun questioning the role of the ordinary congress, which can create room for the postponement of election to a later date. This alone will spark up fresh war.
Reports say up to four individuals have submitted nominations to run for the SLFA presidential hot seat.
