Seasoned, fearless politician of the All People’s Congress (APC) Sylvia Olayinka Blyden has backed the creation of Bandajuma and Kpangoma Districts.

She cited the Constitution of Sierra Leone, stating that the the president does not need a census data to create districts and cities.

She furthered that it is only the Electoral Commission that needs census data to draw electoral wards and constituencies.

She added that section 38 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone okays the Electoral Commission to draw wards and constituencies with any other reliable data.

Her APC party has outrightly condemned the creation of the said districts, saying it is illegal and unconstitutional, a reason they said they may call out their supporters in numbers to a peaceful protest against what they termed as “dangerous manipulation of our national governance and electoral structures”.
