Statistics Sierra Leone has said key findings of consumer price index (CPI) shows that the annual national inflation (year-on-year) is 9.38%.
It noted the 1.33% decrease from 10.71% since March 2025, adding that the monthly Consumer Price Inflation for April 2025 is 0.83% which shows a slight increase of 0.59% from 0.24% in March 2025.
The key upward movers highlighted are: Communication which weight 4.70% increased from 3.02% in March to 4.56% in April 2025 and Transport with weights 8.6% increased from 3.59% in March 2025 to 4.62% in April 2025.
It cited the downward movers, which include furnishing household equipment and routine household maintenance and restaurant and hotels.
It stated that four regions went down including Northern region from 10.94% in March 2025 to 6.00% in April 2025.
The CPI is said to be the measure of the average price level of selected goods and services in the country.
