The High Court of Sierra Leone presided by Hon. Justice Abubakarr Sankor on Wednesday 14th May convicted one Mohamed Koroma for academic malpractice contrary to Section 128 (3) of the Anti Corruption Act of 2008 as amended by the Anti Corruption (Amendment) Act 2019.
The Honorable judge ordered Mohamed Koroma to pay a fine of Le 50,000 or serve a jail term of 5 years.
This payment is said to be made in two folds: the first payment is said to be made immediately, as at the time of the judgement, and the remaining thirty thousand within two years.
Koroma’s conviction came after he pleaded guilty of the offence, a sole count of Academic Malpractice.
According to reports, Koroma was caught on 18th November 2024 attempting to sit the Agricultural Science paper 3 on behalf for one Kelfala Yusuf Koroma, a registered candidate of the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) November/December 2024.
