As hardship hits hard, people are looking for all kinds of means to survive. For most slay queens, the hookup trade is a lucrative option, luring thousands of them into it, many of whom are college students.

To get customers, these slay queens had to join hookup WhatsApp groups where the photos of ladies who are into the trade are shared to lure potential customers.

A man who finds a photo captivating will send a direct message to the sender.

And because some of these ladies do not want to show their faces, they usually post photos of pretty ladies from elsewhere, and this is where one slay queen who chose to share her experience with Newswatch-SL had suffered distress. “I used to share a photo of a lady who resembled my body structure. She was my look-alike. I had been using her photo to lure men, and it had been working well for me until recently things turned sour,” she began.

One day, she shared this very photo in one of their hookup groups. Somebody who appeared to know the lady in question directed her attention to what was happening.

Desperate to hunt this hookup queen down, the owner of the photo sent a private message to the impostor, posing as a potential customer. “When I told this person my price, they did not bargain. I was surprised because my customers always bargain. This fake customer gave their address to me for a quick business. Immediately after my class, I went home, had my bath, and took off to the designated location.

“But something strange happened; whenever I attempted to call this person, they would decline the call and sent a message instead. I began to notice something, but I did not conclude, and I chose to proceed,” she explained.

Upon her arrival at the designated location a few meters away from the customer’s home, she sent a voice message telling the person to pick her up. She said she tried calling, to no avail. “They then sent a message informing me that their sister was coming to pick me up. The sister did come for me, and we went to their house.

“When I entered their living room, I saw a lady that resembled the very one in the photo I had been sharing. And she asked whether I was the one who came to see Balack, the name of the person who sent for me. I answered in the affirmative. She then told me to wait for him. She entered a room, came out with the phone which the sister who picked me up was holding, and went out of the gate, telling me to wait for Balack. In addition to that, she told a young boy who looked like her brother to close the gate.

“During this scene, the thought occurred to me that this lady was indeed the one in the photo. It dawned on me that trouble was not far away. I had spent over seven minutes without seeing this Balack. This was not business as usual.

“So as she left, I got up and rushed to the gate. The boy came trying to persuade me to wait. I couldn’t listen and took to my heels as fast my legs could carry me.

“After ten minutes (already home shivering in fear), this person called my phone, urging me to come back. Jail term missed me for clear impersonation,” she explained in a regretful tone.
