Cricket Sierra Leone Appoints New General Manager

The Board of Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) has officially appointed Chrispin Ekundayo George as its new General Manager after seven months of acting.

During his days of acting, George scored 16 development-driven goals to become a formidable appointee among three of those shortlisted for the job and interview conducted via Zoom months after.

He is to serve for six months on a performance contract basis to attract a lengthier appointment if benchmarks set are met.

Below are his achievements during his acting days since September 2024:

1.Conducted the first staff meeting to switch departmental heads on functional mode

2.Created office space for each department

3.Created attendance signing sheet to activate punctuality

4.Reconstructed the scoreboard to match international standards

5.Brought the roller to life after years of absence

6.Embarked on pitch levelling

7.Embarked on a four-day provincial tour to collect data of regional PHE teachers, assess facilities, create local regional clubs, and increase regional participation

8.Renovated the offices of key departments

9.Procured office equipment to support different departments

10.Created the avenue for the co-option of five new cricket clubs, raising the number to 30 active ones.

11.Brought in a formidable force to help capture data in the ongoing Cricket 4 Schools Programme, online figure now surpasses sixteen thousand new participants

12.Created a blogging department to promote cricket fan-base

13.Brained the grandest of welcome ceremonies for national teams coming from international assignments

14.Lobbied ICC to conduct the first international in-country coach tutor course for 15 participants

15.Pushed for the empowerment of two local coaches at a just concluded ICC Umpire Tutor course in Accra Ghana

16.Lobbied ICC for two slots to enable Sierra Leoneans to participate in the just concluded ICC Level 1 Coaching Course in Abuja, Nigeria.
