Campaign for Human Rights and Development International (CHRDI), a right-based organization, has raised concerns over the lack of public trust in the Judiciary of Sierra Leone.
In a press release issued out late Friday, CHRDI pointed out recent events and trends that have revealed a “critical erosion” of confidence in the justice system of Sierra Leone.
Among concerns noted were perceived bias and corruption, lack of transparency and accountability, inefficient and delay prone justice system, and poor condition of the Judiciary.
It’s against this backdrop that it is calling for immediate reform of the justice system to strengthen public confidence and guarantee independence of the Judiciary.
