President of Sierra Leone Maada Bio has sent 400 bags of 50kg rice and 2,000 bags of 25kg rice in humanitarian response to those affected by the security threats at the Yenga border in Kissi Teng, Kailahun.
According to journalist Sylvia O Blyden, the beneficiaries will include all internally displaced people of the locality and its surroundings.
She further stated that Foreign Affairs Minister Timothy Kabba is championing the delivery process alongside the Eastern Province Resident Minister Hon. Just J Ngobeh.
The humanitarian aid has come amid tension in the Yenga border where reports say the Guinean army has mounted a signpost with the inscription ‘Since 1886’, to suggest that the land in dispute has been Guinea’s.
Media analysts are calling for diplomatic talks to de-escalate the new tension and to find friendly means to end the long-drawn dispute.
