Sierra Leone is not among countries in Africa where Facebook monetization operates. Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Tanzania, and South Africa are key beneficiaries.
For one to attract Facebook monetization, one needs to have at least 10,000-30,000 followers, have published content within the past 60 days, target an audience in US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, addhere to Facebook’s terms and conditions, among others.
Social media influencers in Sierra Leone have been calling for efforts to monetize their content, a move that, if adhered to, will bring positive changes.
