Sierra Leone Faces Multiple US Visa Troubles

The US Embassy Freetown on 9th June 2025, acting upon the presidential proclamation, suspended the insurance of tourist, business, student, and exchange visitor nonimmigrant visas (categories B,F,M and J) to nationals of Sierra Leone.
The exempted case highlighted is visas for immediate family members of U.S citizens to nationals of Sierra Leone.
The Department stressed that this proclamation does not revoke existing visas.
It called on travellers to use their visas as intended and to avoid possible penalties and deportation for overstays.
