Disgruntled staff of the state broadcaster SLBC has written an open letter to President Bio pointing out the challanges they are silently enduring and making 27 demands to forge a new path.

Crucial among the demands, which they stated should be met on or before 1st June 2025, are the dissolution of the current Board of Trustees, publication of the Anti Corruption Commission’s report on SLBC, and harmonization and proper salary structure.

They cited their peaceful strike on Tuesday, 6th May 2025, which they said emanated from deteriorating staff welfare and long-standing poor working conditions.

They further raised concerns on the conduct and capacity of the SLBC Board of Trustees, claiming that the action of some members of the Board undermine their independence and operational efficiency.

The Chief minister, Office of the First Lady, Minister of Information and Civic Education, Ministry of Employment Labour and Social Security, and others were copied.
