Bio Calls on Nation to Mark 64th Independence Anniversary with Prayers

President Bio’s office has called on Sierra Leoneans to mark the country’s 64th Independence anniversary with prayer services held in churches and mosques countrywide.

Bio’s office says the move is geared towards strengthening national cohesion, uniting in reflection and gratitude.

It calls on Muslims to pray for the nation on Friday, 25th April 2025, and Christians on Sunday, 27th April 2025.

It urges all heads of ministries, departments, to attend the religious services in their respective places of worship.

It says President Bio will deliver the customary Independence Day Address to the nation on Sunday, 27th April 2025, commencing at 7:00 a.m.

The theme for this year’s commemoration is ” Deepening National Consciousness and National Cohesion in a Troubled World”.
