Sierra Leone Qualifies for U-20 Africa Cup of Nations

Sierra Leone has booked a straight ticket to the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations WAFU Zone A tournament after an exemplary performance in the Qualifier held in Liberia.

The country’s boys were in group A with Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and host Liberia.

In the group stage, Sierra Leone had a goalless draw against Guinea but held Liberia to a 3-1 win before smashing Guinea Bissau 1-0 to finish first on the table with 7 points.

They progressed to the semifinals where they defeated Group B runners-up

Gambia by 3-0. This glory broke the spell and offered the country automatic qualification to the U-20 Africa Nations Cup for the first time in history.

Sierra Leone won all the Man of the Match awards in all their four matches.
