The Judiciary of Sierra Leone on 8th January 2025 refuted a claim making the rounds on social media that the Honourable Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Komba Kamanda, ordered the immediate release of suspects connected to the death of Victor Effon Williams.
In its release, it said that the matter has not been charged to court and that the Honourable Chief Justice has no involvement in matters at the police station.
It described the rumor as unfounded and deliberately aimed at dragging the name of the CJ into dispute, a reason it should be discountenanced.
Victor Willam’s tragic death took place on 5th December 2025, and the circumstances that led to his death are still unclear.
