As the Sierra Leone Presidency of the United Nations Security Council screeched to a halt, Sierra Leonean music stars, including the Ambassador of Entertainment, were invited to perform at the Sierra Leone Peace Concert in New York.
The event also featured five fashion designers from Sierra Leone. This concert was organized by His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, who served as the United Nations Security Council President for the month of August 2024.
The office of the Ambassador of Entertainment recommended Star Zee, Famous, Alieu Melody, Rap Gee, Lamson P, Rozay Sokota, Shady Baby, Collins Pratt, and the legendary Amie Kallon for visas through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, other Sierra Leoneans in the art and fashion industry were given the opportunity to showcase the country’s rich culture through fashion and design. Notable designers include Labrum London, Mumbai Design, Zelia, Madam Wokie, and JF Erite J. The Freetown Uncut band and Telem Uncommon Sounds performed at the show, providing a love band session alongside the other performers.
The exclusive event took place at the UN Headquarters North Lawn, 46th Street, 1st Avenue, New York.
