The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, has called on Sierra Leone’s Shooting Stars to redirect their focus on qualifying for the World Cup and not on the immediate financial benefit it brings.
He made this statement on Friday while addressing the young players and their technical team in Egypt, asking for cool heads and for winning mentality at this crucial stage.
The NSA Boss revealed that he was in Egypt to pay the group stage match allowances and to settle other expenses from the government’s funding for the team.
“You have chosen football as your career. You need to dedicate your undivided attention, time, and energy into it,” he said, promising to pay their allowances for both the quarter finals and the finals and reiterating government’s commitment to provide more as the boys keep on winning.
